Global Brewery Consolidation

Global Brewery Consolidation 2000-2012
This chart tracks the various mergers and acquisitions between the largest brewing entities globally. During the first decade of the 21st century industrial brewing entities underwent massive consolidation resulting in five main brewing concerns that account for the bulk of beer produced globally. This phenomenon has reduced consumer choice, globalised taste, and ultimately led to less local, regional, or national character in the brewing sector and contributed to the rise of an alternative network of smaller craft brewers and the corollary expansion of a smaller more localised taste offerings.
