Glenn Jordan

Yesterday, we received the heart-breaking news of the sudden and unexpected death of Glenn Jordan, who had been leading the Explorers this year until we had to close down.  He was officially the Programme Manager for Public Theology with the Corrymeela Community; he was to all who worked with him a gracious and perceptive interpreter of the Bible, and he had been a great support to me, over the last year in particular.  He also loved the Explorers, and after doing a series with us last year practically invited himself back this year, which was an encouragement to us all!  He had grown up in Bray, but lived much of his adult life in Northern Ireland.  He was raised Roman Catholic, worked for many years with the Belfast Central Mission of the Methodist Church, and worshipped in a Presbyterian congregation, so he belonged to us all.  The Explorers from our many traditions and backgrounds will be in touch with his family to express our great sense of loss and to offer our sympathy, and that of the communities from which we come.

Corrymeela Community programme manager and leading Irish theologian Glenn Jordan passes away
